我們以英國國家現代外語中文科(MFL)的大綱和英國考試局所定的 “聽、説、讀、寫” 課程來教授。學校選用英國中文學校聯會(UKFCS)出版的粵語(廣東話) 和繁體(正體)字書本及其它有關題目的習作紙作為教材。
本校多年來租用倫敦哈勞區的Whitmore High School作校舍，並隨該校於2010年9月遷入於Porlock Avenue新落成的校舍，合作關係長遠。
Whitmore High School 校舍設備完善新頴，除了租用課室之外，亦有提供室內運動場、舞蹈室、禮堂等場地租用，以及共用大飯堂空間作休憩之用，為學校家長親友、學生、導師、義工等，提供一個社區空間。
善用Whitmore High School 提供的廣濶空間，每星期六下午，校內的大飯堂亦成為一個廣東話小社區。除了學生家長自組的各種興趣小組之外，學校亦會留意並協助推行各種活動、課程、研討小組等，歡迎有興趣人仕加入。
School and Community
Harrow Chinese School was founded in 1979, and was registered as a charity in 1989. The school is governed by Harrow Chinese School Committee.
Students aged from 4 to 18, there are 11 classes starting from Playgroup to GCSE.
We can also provide A-Level class, depending on request and assessment of the students. Please contact us to enquire.
Our teachings follow the syllabus from GCSE (Modern Foreign Languages) Chinese subject focusing on: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing. Teaching materials include UKFCS publications and other resources in Traditional Chinese Writing and spoken Cantonese.
HCS has a long term hiring relationship with Whitmore High School in Harrow. The current school site in Porlock Avenue was completed in September 2010 which comes with many features. Besides its classrooms, Whitmore High School also provides sports halls, dance studios, assembly hall hire and a grand food hall for HCS and its community.
HCS is very active in many platforms. Our students are regularly involved with competitions and activities provided by UKFCS and UKAPCE. We also held annual school picnic, and Lunar New Year Celebrations amongst other events.
Our activity classes are not just for our students but also open for parents and public alike. Harrow Chinese School Dance Class has been our longest running pride and joy. Please click "Chinese Dance" on the menu to read their full story.
There are also other groups such as parents badminton group, and HCS is always on the look out for various classes such as Cantonese Speaking Lesson for adults and Chinese Painting classes are under development.
Benefiting from the vast space at Whitmore High School, our community thrives. We welcome anyone interested to join our Cantonese speaking community every Saturday afternoon during term time.
